“Sing to yourself and mean every word.
sing to yourself and call every bird
from your soul.
call every wonder to muse from within.
Call every question, and soon you'll begin
to compose.”

Composer:
Tullock’s choral works have been sung all over the United States by choirs of all ages and Tullock has done studio work as a songwriter and recording artist in her own rite. Improvisation has always had a place in Tullock’s musical journey - from her earliest years as a piano student and chorister, Tullock exhibited an interest in creating new arrangements of favorite tunes and writing original poetry. Although Tullock did not pursue a degree in composition, she was fortunate to study choral arranging with Dr. Roland Carter during her time at UTC. Since that time, Tullock has taken composition lessons with Composers, Tim Henson-Hinck and Dr. Jonathan McNair, and twice studied with Alice Parker as a Melodious Accord Fellow. Tullock is currently serving as Composer in Residence for the Chattanooga Girls Choir, writing original works for their choirs through the spring 2025 season.
Clinician:
Tullock is the 2022 recipient of the Organization of American Kodàly Educators “Outstanding Emerging Educator” award. Every summer, Tullock serves on the faculties of two Kodály Institutes, teaching three levels of choral conducting for UTC’s Kodály Institute as well as three levels of conducting, level three pedagogy, and folk song research for the Carolina Kodály Institute at Lenoir-Rhyne University. Tullock is a widely sought after clinician and honor choir clinician, offering music education workshops for universities and educational groups on a variety of topics related to Kodály philosophy, pedagogy, community singing, and compositional/creative practice. Tullock facilitates quarterly multi generational SING events locally and is called upon as an honor choir clinician and guest SING leader for other communities.
